Giro Atmos Road/Racing Bike Helmet (Medium, Matte Titanium) Big Discount

Giro Atmos Road/Racing Bike Helmet (Medium, Matte Titanium)
The Giro Atmos Road and Racing helmet provides legendary performance, style and comfort - and features the new Roc Loc 5 fit system. After more than ten years of refinement, this ground-breaking fit system provides an entirely unique use experience with an unmatched level of comfort, stability, adjustability and weight savings. With Roc Loc 5, you can easily dial-in both fit tension and adjust vertical position with a single hand. Just twist the dial for a tighter feel on tough terrain, then back it off a notch and relax across the flats or a warm climb. Even with these remarkable features, Roc Loc 5 is still 40-percent lighter than its popular predecessor, Roc Loc 4. Roc Loc 5 systems is: 1) Micro Dial. The heart of the Roc Loc 5 is this ratcheting, micro-adjusting dial. A simple, two-finger twist of the Micro Dial opens or closes the retention system and each click is audible. 2) Three-Position Vertical Fit - It's never been easier to change vertical positions and fine-tune fit. We incorporated a three-position bracket that features 15-millimeters of precise up/down movement. Like the Micro Dial, this system can be adjusted without removing the helmet. 3) Carefully crafted ergonomic arms are shaped to be as comfortable as possible, yet work flawlessly with Giro eyewear (what we call Super Fit engineering). 4) Dual Pods - These two panels are designed to firmly grasp the back of your head while comfortably cradling the occipital lobe. Strap management - with Roc Loc 5, your helmet straps are woven through the fit system, so they are always in the perfect position. Complex Internal Design - Dozens of small parts work together seamlessly to provide exceptionally user-friendly adjustment. Minimal and Light, yet Strong - Although this fit system is 40% lighter than its predecessor, it's much stronger. In testing, Roc Loc 5 performs flawlessly, even after 6,600 cycles (equivalent to 3 years of riding with 3 round trips per day). The high-performance, technically-advanced Giro Atmos offers a stylish low-profile silhouette, 26 unique wind tunnel vents, protective In-Mold Roll Cage for added safety, and a comfortable and innovative Roc Lock 5 fit adjustment system. The helmet is well suited to road, 'cross, and cross country use.

26 oversized channels force air along your head before expelling it in the rear of the helmet, for optimal cooling effect.

Features

  • Wind Tunnel Ventilation: Giro helmets are developed utilizing a proprietary Wind Tunnel ventilation system, which combines active vents with internal exhaust channels that thrust cool, fresh air over and around the rider's head, while forcing heat and stale air out.
  • In-Mold: An in-mold construction process fuses the helmet’s outer shell with its impact-absorbing EPS liner during the molding process, making the liner a part of the helmet. This fusion process reinforces areas around vents and ribs, creating a one-piece "exoskeleton" that allows the helmet to be lighter, more durable, and better ventilated than traditional designs.
  • Roll Cage: Roll Cage reinforcement is a tough web of DuPont Nylon molded inside a helmet’s EPS foam liner, providing an extra measure of strength and integrity.
  • Roc Lock 5: This innovative fit system provides a unique user experience with outstanding comfort, stability, adjustability, and weight savings. You can easily dial-in both fit tension and adjust vertical position with a single hand. Just twist the dial for a tighter feel on rough terrain, then back it off a notch and relax across the flats or a warm climb. Roc Lock 5 technology is made up of the following technical advancements:
    • Micro Dial: The heart of Roc Loc 5 is a ratcheting, micro-adjusting dial. A simple, two-finger twist of the Micro Dial opens or closes the retention system, and each click is audible.
    • Three-Position Bracket: A three-position bracket features 15 millimeters of up/down movement. Like the Micro Dial, this system can be adjusted without removing the helmet. Carefully-crafted ergonomic arms are shaped to be as comfortable as possible, yet work flawlessly with Giro eyewear.
    • Dual Pods: Two panels are designed to firmly grasp the back of your head, while comfortably cradling the occipital lobe.
    • Strap Baskets: With Roc Loc 5, your helmet straps are always right where you need them.

Outstanding Hat
This is the most comfortable cycling helmet that I've owned. I've got a couple of Treks, a Bontrager and two really old Bells. This Atmos is hands down my favorite. The rocloc fit system is super adjustable and the best of any that I've tried. This Giro is so light that you quickly forget that you're even wearing it. Plus it looks good on my noggin'. I'm diggin' it.
I highly recommend that you go to Giro.com and review their sizing guidelines before ordering. Getting the proper size is crucial.

Lightweight, Breathable, Functional
I spent a good bit of time when this product first arriving adjusting all the straps and the "roc loc" to get this helmet to fit me well. I have noticed that a lot of other cyclists don't have their straps quite as tight as I have mine, but I initially had issues with feeling like this helmet was sliding around on my head too easily. Once you get the hang of it, there is no shortage of adjustment techniques to get this to fit on your head just the right way.

Even though I have mine adjusted rather tight, it still doesn't get uncomfortable. I've been on 40 and 50 mile bike rides, sometimes with this helmet on for three hours straight, and I've had no issues with my head getting sore or anything like that. The holes in the helmet allow for great air flow, and the padding on the inside and lightweight nature of the helmet make it perfectly comfortable. I've been spoiled by this helmet as I've never done serious cycling with anything else, but I have no complaints...
Giro Atmos
The Giro Atmos road helmet is lighter, has more vents and fits better than any helmet I have used. The difference in fitting is that my head is inside the helmet rather than the helmet sitting on top of my head.

Excellent helmet and value.
