Years ago I owned one of these made at the time by Pirenne Co. Attached to a 9' fiberglasss fly rod., best darn crappie rig around when fishing under bridges lit by a coleman white gas lantern at night and a big fat minnow swiming below a slip cork. When the fish was on, bringing in the fly line was a cinch and getting back to the action for another slab was fast and productive thanks to the sping loaded retractable spool. The Martin looks and responds just like my old one and I hope the dependability, though it's not USA made, will do the job. If you are looking for a self loading recoil line retracting reel maybe this one is for you.
