Okay item for my uses
The Good:
Keeps your feet a bit warmer, definitely cuts down on the wind, is water resistant in a light rain.
The Bad:
I definitely wouldn't call these 'waterproof', and would even use 'water resistant' as a stretch, considering it is foul weather gear. In a steady rain, once these had been saturated for 30 minutes, things definitely got soggy in the shoes, well above the cleat connections and skirt of the rain bootie.
Other thoughts:
I reviewed these having used them on size 42 Shimano MTB shoes, which they barely fit, with much finagling. The size reviewed was an XL. I can say with a fair amount of certainty that the product, used as intended, is definitely made more for the smaller, more form fitting shoe, as opposed to the touring/trekking type that I own. While the product works as advertised for a period of time, it definitely not waterproof. If you are seeking something that serves the purpose of really waterproofing...

Size is small
works well. The sizing to very small, I got a x-large for a 47 size and it is still tight.
Only bought cause it was cheap.
These only fit when I wear a certain type of shoe. I can use these when wearing TOMS classic, size 9. All my other size 9 shoes are too big. These also barely fit over the TOMS. Have to pull strong to fit around entire shoe. Right zipper hard to pull up. Protects from rain well. Would be excellent product for me if there was a larger size available.
