some big rod wont fit
the rod rack looks nice but will not fit some of my bigger rods. The dia. of the circle openning is a bit too small. Salt water fishing rod will not fit due to its rubber cap at the end. Hope this help.

Looks great on wall, but brackets were installed upside-down
The rack looks and feels solid, and the stain is applied evenly: a real value for the price. But I had 1 problem with the installation.
I mounted the rack in drywall in 20 minutes with a cordless drill, a level, 4 wall anchors (not included), and 4 screws (included). Each rack has 2 recessed mounting brackets, and each bracket has a wide slot for the screw head to pass through and a narrow groove that the screw slides through until it hits bottom. To mount a rack, the brackets are placed over the screw heads, the screw heads are passed through the large slots, and then lowered until they stop. The end result is a flush mount with no visible hardware. The problem I had was with the rack with the cutouts for the rod tips: its brackets were upside-down. If I installed it as is, the cutouts for the rod tips would have been facing down, causing the rod tips to fall out of the bottom of the rack once mounted. I had to unscrew the 4 screws holding the brackets, rotate the...
nice design poor execution
I have an item that is nearly identical to this that i bought at a major sporting goods store, Dicks or Bass Pro cant remember which, and thats where i will be going again after this dreadful product.
Now then to the review: First off let me say that the shipping packaging was great and was in no way damaged. Thats where the good news ends, upon getting into the packaging i get to the items box which appears to have been opened and taped multiple times and is covered in tape and various shipping manifests from the manufacturer and amazon. Upon opening the item and removing the first thing i noticed is the two pieces are different colors, whether this is from different types of wood or stain i do not know. Looking further the item has numerous scratches and dents and a large crack on one piece where a rod would go.
